Visteon workers are now occupying the plant in Enfield as well as the one in Belfast. They are protesting at the closure of the car components company. The anger is directed at Fords who spun off the components manufacturing facilities as a separate company a decade ago as a cost cutting measure.
These actions are key in fighting back to defend jobs after a day which saw 1,100 jobs cut at insurance giant Aviva and hundresmore going a Bombadier in Belfast.

Unite is organising a demonstration outside the Enfield occupation on Saturday, April 4 at 11:00 am. The plant is in Morson Road off Meridan Way (A1055) in Enfield. It is five minutes walk from Ponders End Station with trains from Liverpool Street and Tottenham Hale (on Victoria Line). A large turnout of union activists will show Ford and other employers cutting jobs that Unite members are not going to take redundancies lying down.
